With routes like Indian Summer, Inner Space, and Three Horned Dragon King, this trip combines big wall granite climbing with the wild alpine setting of Strathcona Park.

    • Climb classic multi-pitch granite routes on Vancouver Island’s climbing mecca.

    • Experience the dramatic alpine scenery of the Tom Taylor Basin.

    • Fully guided trip with professional ACMG guides.

    • Choose between 1 or 2 full climbing days on the mountain.

    • Camp in a spectacular alpine basin with views of Strathcona’s rugged peaks.

    • Difficulty: Advanced multi-pitch alpine climbing (5.8–5.11 depending on route).

    • Duration: 3 or 4 days.

    • Approach: 13 km hike to Tom Taylor Basin (approx. 1,200m gain).

    • Season: July – September.

    • Group Size: Maximum 2 participants per guide.

    • Price: Contact us for custom group pricing.

    • Day 1: Meet in Campbell River, final gear check, and hike 13 km into Tom Taylor Basin. Establish alpine camp.

    • Day 2: Full day climbing a classic route (e.g., Indian Summer). Return to alpine camp.

    • Day 3: Extra climbing day, or descent and hike out.

  • Included:

    • ACMG certified guide(s).

    • Group technical equipment (ropes, rack, safety gear).

    • Emergency communication device.

    • Trip planning & logistics.

    Not Included:

    • Personal climbing equipment (harness, helmet, shoes, belay device, etc.).

    • Camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, mat).

    • Food & stove system.

    • Transportation to trailhead.

  • Participants should be in excellent physical condition, capable of carrying an overnight pack 13 km with 1,200m elevation gain. Previous multi-pitch climbing experience is recommended. This trip is best suited for climbers with at least some outdoor trad or sport climbing experience.

    • Climbing shoes, harness, helmet, belay device.

    • Weather-appropriate alpine clothing.

    • Overnight camping kit (tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad).

    • Food for 3–4 days.

    • Backpack (40–50L).
